Chris Barrett Debuts New Show at DILLON'S

Cabaret singer/pianist Chris Barrett will unveil to New York audiences his new cabaret show "I Gotta Make My Own Music" at The Backroom at DILLON'S (245 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-307-9797) on Wednesdays through Fridays, September 17th, 18th & 19th and September 24th, 25th & 26th, all shows at 8:30 pm. Conceived by Barrett, the show pays special tribute to those singer/pianist composers who have created magical, unforgettable tunes while making their living at the keys. There is a $15 cover plus $10 food/drink minimum.

With material culled from nightclub legends such as Blossom Dearie and Steve Allen to concert hall performers Elton John and Billy Joel, Barrett's program is a lively catalogue of great music paired with often witty and, always, intelligent lyrics. A "piano man" himself, Barrett has a special fondness for those who write, sing and play, and he conceived the show to pay homage to these "triple threats."

Major engagements have taken Mr. Barrett to the finest rooms: The Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles, New York's Carlyle Hotel, The Cipriani in Venice and London's fabled Berkeley Hotel. He is a regular fixture on the golden triangle & Palm Beach & The Hamptons & New York and is currently performing at The Maidstone Arms Inn and Restaurant in East Hampton for his 24th summer season.

A Backstage Bistro Award winner, Chris Barrett has four recordings to his credit. His most recent release "The Best Is Yet To Come," features the extraordinary piano of legendary jazz artist, Dr. Joe Utterback for the prestigious Connoisseur Society.
