Debbie Lesser at Judy's Chelsea To Release Her New CD "LET'S Misbehave"

Debbie Lesser, whose upbeat cabaret show COME FLY WITH ME enjoyed six successful nights at last April, returns to JUDY'S CHELSEA (169 Eighth Avenue, NYC - 212-929-5410 - http://www.judyschelsea.com/) with her new show, LET'S MISBEHAVE. This show, named for her debut CD, will open on Wednesday, September 18th at 8:30 pm, with additional performances on Thursday, September 19th, Wednesday, September 25th and Thursday, September 26th - all shows at 8:30 pm. There is a $15.00 cover plus a $10.00 food/drink minimum.

Directed by Scott Barnes, LET'S MISBEHAVE celebrates Debbie Lesser's new CD, which features the talents of top-notch musicians, who will be joining Debbie Lesser for this show. The band features David Brunetti on piano, Steve LaSpina on bass, Bob Einfrank on guitar and Steve Bartosik on drums.

Ms. Lesser is a veritable fireball on stage, swinging into songs from her new CD which certainly suggest misbehavior: "Let's Misbehave" paired with "Let's Do It," "Keepin' Out Of Mischief," "Rough and Ready Man," and "Hallelujah, I Just Love You So," paired with "All Right, Okay, You Win."

Debbie grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, listening to 1930s & 40s swing and jazz, including George Shearing, Ramsey Lewis, Errol Garner and Tony Bennett. Her singing is influenced by Cleo Laine, Sarah Vaughan, Rosemary Clooney and Joe Williams.

Her first musical director in New York was Bill Schneider, a pianist for Bette Midler, who he still plays for. Together Debbie Lesser and Bill Schneider played such New York bastions as The Duplex, Ted Hook's, and Upstairs at the Downstairs. Lesser segued for a while from singing standards to rock music in the late 80's and early 90's, doing club dates with a band called Bigtown, then a staple at The China Club. Ms. Lesser then took a hiatus, after which she needed a new musical director. Referred to David Brunetti, the two connected and have worked together for six years. Ms. Lesser has performed at Judy's Chelsea during the past three seasons.

Selections from LET'S MISBEHAVE will be featured in the show, including "Why Try To Change Me Now," "Summertime," paired with "Lazy Afternoon," "If I Were A Bell," "Music" and "There's A Place Called Home."

LET'S MISBEHAVE, on LML Music (http://www.lmlmusic.com/), distributed nationally and internationally, will be available in November, at outlets including Tower Records, HMV, and Amazon.com.
